York based company William Birch & Sons Limited have been appointed to carry out the £1.4m redevelopment works to York Theatre Royal. In turn Multistage International Limited has been awarded the contract to provide stage engineering equipment. The redevelopment is due to be completed in time for their Christmas 2015 production of Dick Whittington and his Meerkat.
![]() Having been based in Cyprus and Greece for the past 16 years overseeing many major projects on behalf of Multistage International Limited, we are delighted to welcome Mike Rowntree, Technical Director to our Bury St Edmunds Office. Mike brings with him a wealth of knowledge having over 30 years' experience in the theatre industry. He will be responsible for design of audio and lighting systems, concept designs of stage machinery as well as overseeing projects during installation, testing and commissioning. The Multistage office will be closed from Wednesday 24th December 2014 and will reopen on Monday 5th January 2015.
We would like to wish all our customers, suppliers and subcontractors a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. ![]() Liverpool Philharmonic Hall has re-opened its doors to visitors having been closed since May for a £14m refurbishment, which included a complete revamp of the main concert hall and auditorium. Multistage International Limited were asked to design, supply, install and commission 6 1tonne capacity lighting truss hoists and 5 lighting panel hoists. Due to the very tight lead time our installers worked throughout the nights to ensure that these were ready to use come opening night. The remaining overhaul of the interior is due for completion Summer 2015. We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a £500,000 contract at an independent school in London. The contract is in conjunction with LIFE Build Ltd as part of a major new build of a 300 seat theatre for the school. Our time on site will commence in Spring 2015 and completion will be in time for their Christmas 2015 production of Cinderella.
![]() Sadly today we said goodbye to our Senior Designer, Ivor Gammon. Ivor joined Multistage International Limited in January 2010 although had worked in television and theatre engineering since 1980. Ivor has moved to Cornwall with his partner Linda to run a pub, something which Ivor is very passionate about. We are lucky to be able to retain Ivor's knowledge and expertise in theatre engineering as he will continue to work for us on a consultancy basis. We thank Ivor very much for all his hard work and efforts over the years and wish him and Linda every success with their new venture. Cheers Ivor!!! |
